Hailing from Reunion Island where shark deterrents are a critical part of surfing safely, 22 year old Alice Lemoigne is the 2019 World Longboard Champion and a 5 x European Longboard Champion and has this to say about Ocean Guardian and surfing in Reunion Island.
“I come from Reunion Island where we have had 24 shark attacks since 2011, with 11 of them fatal. We have been deprived of our passion and can no longer enjoy our island. I was interested in protecting myself and watched many videos about Shark Shield Technology, trying to understand how it works. I also read an interview with Tom Carroll. After educating myself I immediately wanted to order one and try it. It is just amazing how safe I feel with the protective electrical field around me. It allows me to surf safely and not to think about this fear of sharks around me.”
